Words: Charlie Gardiner-Hill
Built and launched in New Zealand by Alloy Yachts and designed by world renowned Dubois Naval Architechts, Mondango is a high performance ketch built for the sort of blue water cruising Mediterranean summers and Caribbean winters should be made of. She was given a full refit, rig overhaul, new paint job earlier this year and looks to be one of the finest yachts currently on the market. The clean lines of the hull and subtle profile of the coachroof are given a modern twist by the raked windows of the main cabin, which curve around the aft cockpit and create a climate controlled extension to the main saloon. Out on the foredeck there’s a jacuzzi, and the flybridge provides unrivalled panoramic views with a barbecue close to hand that one of the 12 crew can get fired up. Inside, award-winning super yacht interior designers Reymond Langton were commissioned to design the 5 guest cabins and living spaces, including a full beam owner’s stateroom, and they’ve lived up to their reputation.
