Words: Violet
What is it about Bradley Cooper that has women swooning the second he comes on-screen? Not dissimilar to the Ryan Gosling effect, we take a quick look at just what it is that makes women love this guy, and perhaps give you gentleman a little bit of inspiration on how you, too, can have screaming women throwing themselves at you on a regular basis…
He’s sentimental and not afraid to show his soft-side.
In an interview he admitted that the only jewellery he wears is a ring. Not particularly out of the ordinary? Wait for it…”Nothing except my dad’s ring. When he was dying, I took his ring and I put it right on my finger and swore, “I’m never taking it off.””
He knows how to be a man around the house
He’s handy – “My first instinct is to try to fix something myself. I tried to fix the toilet in my hotel and it worked!” – what woman doesn’t love an excuse to call a handsome man around to fix a broken sink?
He’s not afraid to shed a tear
Apparently movies like The Elephant Man and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly always make him cry. All woman want a man who can express their emotions, no matter what they say to the contrary.
He’s intelligent
Not just a handsome face, Cooper has also got the brains to match the looks. He graduated from Georgetown University, with a BA in English, having written his thesis on the film adaptations of Nabokov’s Lolita.
He’s hilarious
They say you can laugh a woman into bed – don’t believe it? Have a quick click through YouTube with a female friend and see if his interviews don’t have her in hysterics.
He’s a Renaissance Man
He’s musical and good at cooking. He plays the saxophone, piano and guitar. He grew up in an Italian family, so food was always a priority, and is apparently a dab hand in the kitchen, and as you all know, every gentleman should know how to make at least one good meal.
He’s adventurous
He played the host of Globe Trekker on the Discovery Channel, and every woman knows that adventurous equals brave and brave equals sexy. Just as a man is supposed to be.
…and spiritual
He once went to a festival in the Andean mountains, called Qoyllur Rit’i. Where you stay for four days and pray for what you need.
He’s a little bit old-fashioned
“I like old-fashioned books over tablets” – a simple little comment, but all women love an intellectual, and a good-looking intellectual who they can curl up with by the fire and read novels with? Even better.
He always plays the on-screen loveable bad-boy
We know that it’s only acting, but you can’t help but fall for him in those on-screen roles. From playing the terrible boyfriend of Rachel McAdams in the Wedding Crashers or the totally heartless one in The Hangover. Maybe it has something to do with woman loving a bad boy at heart.
He wants to have a family
When asked if he wanted children he response was, “God, I hope so. I’ve always pictured a little guy, probably a Charles (his father’s name). And I used to think I’d want to name my daughter Nebraska. She’d have red hair and freckles, like a Wyatt painting.” Trust us gentlemen, there are few things in life that a woman wants to hear more than this!
Final Word…
We’re not saying you have to be a Hollywood A-Lister with a great body and effortless good looks to be attractive to woman (although we’re not going to deny that it helps – just a little bit), but if you take at least a few of these traits mentioned, then you too can be a little more Bradley…
