A couple of weeks ago I had one of those unexpected culinary experiences. It was at a restaurant that I had driven past numerous times when I used to live in the area, however I must confess I thought that it was no more than just another over priced deli. I was wrong, very wrong indeed.
Afterwards I found out that this restaurant is hailed as one of London’s best-kept secrets, which is surprising, as it is located on the trendy Kings Road. Never the less, Megan’s restaurant near the bohemian Lots Road, is in our view one of London’s best kept secrets.
During the day it makes for the perfect meeting place, whether it is just a delicious cake and coffee or one of their brilliantly healthy seasonal salads. During the night is when Megan’s comes into its own though, with an unrivaled selection of succulent seafood and juicy steaks. To start with, we highly recommend you have one of their great antipasti sharing platters. For pudding we ordered the chocolate brownies, which were an unexpected delight and I will go so far to say that they are the best brownies in London.
On a summers evening the courtyard at Megan’s seems a million miles away from the bustling city that London is. Instead you could be in Capri or Portofino with its Mediterranean feel. Decorated with blue and white check tablecloths and shaded by a wonderful rose tree, Megan’s is a real experience on the senses.
We really can’t find fault with this restaurant, the service was excellent, as was the food and the courtyard couldn’t be more idyllic.
It makes for the perfect and stylish date spot, which will no doubt impress her if she hasn’t been before, or just a great place to go with family and friends at the weekend. megansrestaurant.com
