Where to Go – Chase & Country Tails Terrace

This summer we continue to see the growing trend of pop ups across the capital, offering consumers a taste of brand for a limited time only.

One of the latest pop ups is the Chase and Country Tails Terrace on the roof of the iconic Harvey Nichols department store in Knightsbridge. They have created a traditional English country look that has been inspired by Herefordshire countryside where the distillery is based.

Chase distillery was set up in 2004 and has gone from strength to strength in a market dominated by giant drink groups. In such a tough market it is hard to make an impact. However Chase haven’t just done good marketing, they have created great products. Their signature vodka was so good in fact, that it was voted the best at the San Francisco World Spirit Awards.

For their latest project, they have teamed up with the luxury British fragrance company Penhaligons, who will scent the air of the terrace with the refreshing and citrus aromas of Blenheim Bouquet. As well as this, Harvey Nichols’ very own Bar Manager, Dominic Jacobs, has created a unique cocktail list offering drinks ranging from the Gooseflower Fizz to the Marmalade Root Martini, all using the best of Chase’s and Harvey Nichols’ products.

Keeping in tune with the all-British theme, Fifth Floor Executive Chef, Jonas Karlsson, has created a food menu to match. The food has been carefully inspired by the fruity aromas of the sprits and includes Lemon Devon chicken and Marmalade marinated Gressingham duck breast. There is also a carefully thought out tapas style platter that consists of honey cured Dorset ham, Harvey Nichols mini pork pies, Scotch quail eggs and various English cheeses. Last but by no means least come the deserts, which in our view perfectly represent Chase produce and the Herefordshire countryside. They include marmalade cake, Lemon curd tart and Bramley apple and elderflower crumble.

The Chase and Country Tails Terrace at Fifth Floor is open from now up until Sunday 15th July. Chase Distillery will be running ‘Meet the Maker’ events and tastings throughout this time.

In our view, the Terrace at Harvey Nichols is one of the best places to be in London when the sun is out, but now with this unique pop up, the Fifth Floor Terrace at Harvey Nichols is a must this summer. thechasebar.co.uk
