Music, Barbican
Leading world music magazine Songlines is bringing the very best global music talent together, gracing the Barbican’s stage for their 2013 Music Awards concert. The four winners, chosen from over 600 albums, will be performing at this one-off evening of contemporary music. Anticipate captivating performances such as ‘Africa’s premiere diva’ (Time) – the winner of this year’s Best Artist award – Angelique Kidjo.

Pop-up Cocktails, Haggerston
East London’s Drink Feast is pitching up at Hoxton Docks from this Thursday until Saturday, re-inventing the world of spirit appreciation. Housing a three-day drinking experience where some of the capital’s top mixologists serving their cocktail favourites. This not to be missed liquid feast guarantees a mix of new smells, tastes, and sights, plus it offers a great line-up with some of the worlds finest drinking establishments all gather in one place.

Party Time, Kensal Green
If you need an unforgettable dance party, one of our favourite West London venues, The Loft Studios in Kensal Green, plays host to an ideal warm-up before NYE. Lovers of the underground, expect a line up of epic proportions with one of the biggest names in dance music this year, Pleasurekraft, alongside the Real Nice Recordings dream team.

Party time, London Fields
On the weekend just before Christmas, Netil House hold host to an epic house party, with some of the best Djs around, all in support of St Mungo’s charity for the homeless. This is a NYE warm-up party where you’ll find a lot of neon, an eclectic mix of festive decor, and visuals and music to set the mood for this all-night rave-up, and lets not forget the fully-licensed bar to push it along its way.
Psychedelic Art Exhibition at Raven Row

Art Gallery, Liverpool Street
It’s your last chance to see Raven Row’s free exhibition ’Reflections from Damaged Life’, running till 15th December. Get your weekend art fix in this independent contemporary gallery found just behind Spitalfields market. Looking at the ins-and-outs of psychedelia, the show displays work from across the globe – providing the perfect escape for nearby city folk wanting to shake up routine lunch breaks, or anyone in the area in need of tranquil art trips.
