We Like – Z2300 Polaroid
The classic Polaroid Camera is one of the most underrated products I have known. Yet ironically, we all know what one looks like. It was the camera of choice for the rock stars of the 60s. Check in any biography of any famous artists of the past 40 years and you will see that most of the pictures of them are Polaroid’s.
If you think about it, the Polaroid camera is one of those iconic products of the post war era. It may not have the publicity of an iPod or the patriotism of a mini, but it is still iconic in its own way.
Unfortunately, Polaroid discontinued most film in 2008 and the instant photo seemed to be on its last legs. However, Polaroid will be revamping this product on the 16th of August. It looks good and the specs are very impressive as well! A 10 megapixel camera is combined with a Zink Zero Ink (trademarks), which is basically like having a small printer, a good LCD screen and a camera editing suite. It produces a 2″ x 3″ photo and can have a 32 GB SD card which you can store pictures on.
In short, the Z2300 will bring back nostalgia like it’s going out of fashion. If you take your photography seriously then this product is a serious contender. I for one am quite happy about this revamp as I’m starting to see a decline in proper cameras. As much as I like my iPhone, it is destroying cameras worldwide faster than a Lib Dem U-turn.
Indeed, if we are being really honest, Instagram and Twitter are only good at producing incriminating photographs, which an employer can enjoy perusing before they fire you. This camera brings back the intimacy of photographs with a very modern twist. The sleek look of a modern camera disguises the slightly bulky on board printer and produces a high quality finish. So I’m hoping this camera will succeed because it is a very neat little product which has a future. At about £105 it is very reasonably priced but that is excluding US shipping. £105 polaroid.com
