We Like – John Lobb Truro Loafer
Words: Gentleman's Journal
England is known around the world for producing some of the finest shoe’s. One of the finest manufacturers is John Lobb and don’t just take our word for it. Since the very beginning, all the way back in 1849 their client list includes kings, maharajahs, actors, singers, politicians and business moguls. The names include the likes of Frank Sinatra, Aristotle Onassis, Roald Dahl and Harold MacMillan. If you judge a shop by its Royal Warrants, don’t fear because Lobb has two, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh and His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, style icons in their own right.
Today the John Lobb premises is rightly located in the heart of club land. Today, as they were back in 1849, the shoes are still handmade the traditional way, with 190 steps and several weeks involved in the production of each pair.
One of our favourite styles is the Truro loafer seen here above. These handcrafted leather loafers are not just comfortable, they epitomise smart causal style. Paired with both chinos or jeans, these Northampton made shoes are the ultimate style symbol. £680 from Johnlobb.com
