Watchout: MB&F HM6 Space Pirate Watch

Watchout: MB&F HM6 Space Pirate Watch

Today we were introduced to the MB&F HM6 ‘Space Pirate’ and what an introduction it was. This watch’s unique design and aesthetic has been inspired by the Japanese Sci-Fi cartoon beloved by the creative team behind its development, now immortalised in solid aeronautic grade Ti-6AI-4V titanium. This ‘biomorhic’ timepiece and its industrial design and finish make it truly a sight to behold.

Under the curves of its ten domed sapphire crystals, dwells a new calibre of machining for MB&F who have researched and labored for 4 years in order to bring us this machine. It boasts 475 components and 68 jewels, and a 60 second tourbillion and central platinum 950 winding rotor, which act as the precision regulator for the HM6’s engine, visible through the heart of the watch and its central dome.

Held in place by its handsome high quality black calfskin strap, the watch is built to last. If its daunting construction wasn’t enough, the twin spherical turbines spin horizontally and automatically regulate the winding system in order to reduce stress and wear. Another unique feature is the retractable UV filter, which works to protect the interior from the damaging affects of UV radiation and the oxidation of its lubricating oils.
