For one reason or another, the Omega Seamaster has always rather stolen the limelight from its equally beautiful brother, the Speedmaster. However this year things look to be different with the launch of the Omega Speedmaster Mark ll.
In anticipation of the up and coming 2014 Baselworld watch fair, Omega have given us a sneak preview of their latest addition to the Omega family. The original Speedmaster was launched in 1969, a year that also saw astronauts take the first steps on the lunar surface wearing the original Speedmaster Professional chronographs. This year Omega are re-introducing this classic watch with updated features, such as to include an automatic movement and a tachymetric scale that is visible even in the most limited light.
These new additions combined with the classic and masculine design, brushed stainless steel case and bracelet and scratch sapphire crystal, make it one of Omega’s most attractive timepieces to date.
