Words: Violet
We have talked and talked about this year’s Baselworld and the incredible styles that it brought to our attention, but in actuality, it is only now that some of our favourite styles from last year are coming into stores. This is exactly the case for the Omega “The Dark Side of the Moon” Speedmaster.
We already know that Omega are known for their moon watches and long term association with astronauts in space, so it seems fitting that “The Dark Side of the Moon” salutes the pioneering spirit of the astronauts of Apollo 8 and pays homage to the Omega Speedmaster Professional chronographs.
The case and dial, which are moulded from a single block of black zirconium oxide ceramic, are sleek, stylish and – with the brushed and polished ceramic casebody – completely resistant to the risk of inadvertant manipulation of the chronograph mechanism. The body of the watch is complemented by the coated nylon fabric strap which includes interesting detail in the red stitching. The Dark Side of the Moon Speedmaster contains Omega’s co-axial, self-winding chronograph movement with a 60-hour power reserve.
The Omega Speedmaster “Dark Side of the Moon” timepiece retails at £7,590.
