The Watches We are Excited to See at Baselworld 2014

Words: Violet

With only days to go until the infamous Baselworld opens it’s doors to the world’s press and watch lovers, the hype is building around the new releases for 2014 from the biggest brands around the world.

As usual, Rolex is at the forefront of the hype. Last year saw the release of the limited edition platinum Daytona and the Day Night GMT Master II, which were both well received. In true Rolex fashion, no details of new watches have been released before the show, and the likelihood is that new models will be unveiled at some point on day 1 of the Baselworld show. Speculation of a return of the GMT Master with red and blue bezel, perhaps a new Datejust or Turnograph, a steel Skydweller, or maybe a standard sized Sea Dweller, are all possibilities of what we may see at Baselworld.

Walking around Baselworld is truly a wonderful sight. Some of the world’s most exclusive racing cars can be seen hanging at gravity defying angles as you walk in, weaved between some of the most outrageous temporary structures known to man. For one week a year, the major watch companies of the world construct four story buildings, including offices, michelin star restaurants, board rooms and armies of pretty receptionists! The Breitling fishtank is a must see every year!

Here are some of the specific models we are excited to see released at Baselworld 2014.

MCT Sequential Two S200, , Omega Seamaster Mark II, , Breguet Classique “Grande Complication” Toubillon Extra Thin Automatic,
