It’s back to the future! Let us introduce, or should we say reintroduce you to Tudor, what was once considered to be the “poor man’s Rolex,” has stepped it’s game up to be taken seriously in the watch industry once again.
Born in 1946, Tudor was initially started by Rolex as a more affordable option to it’s big brother. It was sold across the world, mainly in America, and unfortunately was brought to a close in 2004.
But not for long! Tudor has returned with an exciting new range, which we feel hit’s a younger market spot on! Meet the Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue, essentially, a two and a half thousand pound Rolex. Using a Rolex self winding mechanical chronograph movement that has been tried and tested for over a century, the pedigree that comes with a Tudor is astonishing. The Watch Man London was lucky enough to test it at BaselWorld 2013, where it was relaunched into the European market for sale this coming January.
On your wrist the Heritage Chrono Blue feels like a young man’s chunky sports watch. We love the two strap option that it comes with. One steel bracelet with chunky links that is perfect for everyday wear, and a reinforced stripy fabric strap which gives it a modern edge, perfect for summer wear and will definitely appeal to girls in search of a chunky timepiece.
Tudor is standing by the motto, “Blue is the new Black,” and what they have done with the Heritage Chrono Blue is taken a Rolex, made it more affordable, younger and more fun as a better alternative to any Tag Heuer or Omega in our opinion, Great work Tudor!
