Technical and stylistic triumphs often come to light when two individual luxury brands join forces and collaborate, tying the best aspects of each brand together to create a line of products which is, well, pretty spectacular.
This is just what Bugatti and Parmigiani Fleurier have done to launch a line of watches that, for the first time in the world, have a transverse movement which works like the transmission of a car. Yes, this is a case of car meets watch – with success.
As expected, precision, high-performance, innovation and technical achievement are at the heart of this collaboration. So what about the design? Understandably proud of their unique movement, Bugatti and Parmigiani Fleurier have provided several see-through panels showing off every aspect of the movement. We’ve set our sights on the Bugatti Atalante, a self-winding flyback chronograph.
The watch is certainly a statement of luxury. Add to this the watch specialist’s signature “Côtes de Genève” bevelled bridges which take centre stage on the watch face and you’ve got an extremely unique design that will stand out should you wish it to. With 311 components it’s mechanically highly complex, yet the overall design is sophisticated and subtle.
The whole collection is worth your consideration if you are after a watch that is both mechanically and stylistically sound.
