Watch: Gentleman’s Journal go inside Land Rover’s restoration centre
Gentleman's Journal speak to Sukhi Clark about the process of restoring vintage Land Rover Defenders
Words: Gentleman's Journal
The Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works facility is like a toy box. Located in Ryton-on-Dunsmore, alongside the brand’s Special Vehicles Operations Centre, the facility opened last June and has already set to work restoring and renovating some of the most iconic British motors from decades past.
Gentleman’s Journal spoke exclusively to Classic Works general manager for engineering and operations, Sukhi Clark, about the process of rebuilding these iconic machines. From sourcing shells of Land Rovers in deserts and scanning parts to generate 3D digital models, it is a meticulous practice – but one, Clark asserts, is worth every small step.
