After a hard day in the office it takes some serious motivation to drag yourself to the gym. That journey from work to the weights where every fibre of your being wants to turn around and hit the pub instead, after the initial enthusiasm fades off, this is where New Year’s resolutions go to die. Of course your desire to exercise is further sapped when you exit the changing rooms only to have to queue to get hold of a single dumbbell and a bench? Forget about it.
Of course weight training doesn’t begin and end with the benchpress, in fact there’s one area of the gym that is often wrongly left empty by the meathead masses – kettlebells. Having enjoyed a rise in popularity in fitness circles, when used in the proper way kettlebells can provide a hugely effective workout for building all-over body strength. Get the technique right and you may never want to pick up a dumbbell again. Here are the moves you need to know to get started, courtesy of the the experts at Matt Roberts Personal Training.
