It’s time to upgrade your swimming trunks, gentlemen
Words: Gentleman's Journal
Style is often forgotten as soon as your feet get poolside. More often than not, gentlemen wear the same swim shorts that have been circulating for years because no one’s going to care what you wear in the water, right? Wrong. Swimming trunks are one of the most important pieces to consider for your summer holiday, whether you’re visiting the shores of Anglesey or travelling further afield to the likes of St Tropez. And this is where Orlebar Brown and BLUE step in. From today, for one week only, there is an incredible initiative running that aims to raise £50,000 for the Blue Marine Foundation (BLUE), a charity dedicated to creating marine reserves and establishing sustainable models of fishing. The idea behind it is simple but genius: get yourself down to any one of Orlebar Brown’s stores in London, and trade in your old trunks (from whichever brand they happen to come from), for a pair of Orlebar Brown’s classic trunks, which normally retail from £145-£225, for a heavily discounted £50. £25 from each transaction will go directly to BLUE.The brand has 2,000 pairs of shorts available on a first-come-first-serve basis and if all 2,000 pairs of shorts are sold, the initiative will raise its aim of an incredible £50,000 for projects around the world. Please note that the initiative is only running from today until July 13th.For more information about BLUE, see here.
