The receding hairline: something that gentlemen will go lengths to try and hide, but will almost always inevitably end up making the issue at hand much more obvious. And while we’re all for embracing ones natural state, we understand that the receding hairline is something that a lot of gentlemen might want to try and avoid. This seemingly impossible task is no longer such, as Murdock London’s Master Barber, Gavin tells us:
“There comes a time in a gentleman’s life when the hairs on top of his head begin to show signs of inevitable thinning. This is a widely experienced transition and is naturally unpreventable. The end is far from nigh in terms of styling options, and there are some great natural tools and techniques out there that can help you comfortably approach a lighter head of hair. Hopefully this advice can help ensure any gents who may be currently developing a finer head of hair that there are plenty of options available when required to consider a new approach to styling. Here are the essential steps to take to make your hairline seem thicker and fuller:
- Ask your barber for a shorter style: these will let the hair stick firmer and stronger, whereas longer styles make the thinning appear more obvious.
- Avoid a combover at all costs – this goes without saying.
- Avoid waxes and consider moulding creams as an alternative.
- The products I would use and recommend to clients would be Sea Salt Spray and Murdock Hair Play. These will help to keep hair tight and neatly together.
- You should also look to invest in a fine tooth comb. The closer teeth will keep your hair firmly together when styling into shape.
