George Osborne has announced that public spending might have to be cut even further than previously planned after the UK’s economic growth fell short of expectations in wiping out the country’s budget deficit. Official growth figures, announced on Thursday last week, showed that Britain’s economy is smaller than expected. Osborne is due to make his annual budget statement on March 16th.
