These perfect sporting outfits will keep you looking stylish on the sidelines
No matter what event, championship or final you’re attending this summer, ensure you stay top of the podium when it comes to style
From flat racing to the tennis, there’s been much sport to see this summer — with much more to come. So, next time you head out in support, head out in style. We’ve rounded up the best outfits to wear to whichever sport you’re watching this summer, and where to grab the garments…
Dress in understated style for the polo

If you’re a fan of the Sport of Kings, then you should be dressing just as regally. There’s nothing better than a pale blue shirt from Emma Willis, especially when paired with a light linen jacket from Richard James. A splash of colour, courtesy of a New & Lingwood pocket square, never goes amiss, and a silk knitted tie from Budd.
Throw on some navy cotton chinos from Sunspel to complete the look, and lace up some suede shoes by Grenson. To time those chukkas, strap on a Patek Philippe Men’s Calatrava.
Perfect smart casual for a day at the cricket

Make sure you hit a six with your style this summer, whether you’re heading to Lord’s, The Gabba or The Oval. As with our polo get-up, the perfect base of any outfit is a pale blue shirt, this time from Budd. Throw a navy cotton blouson, from Richard James, on top of this, and then some Polo Ralph Lauren chinos.
Accessorise with a pair of Persol sunglasses, John Lobb suede desert boots, a Patrick Mavros bracelet and a Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Memovox.
Take linen to the tennis this summer

Wimbledon may be over, but it’s an event that should inspire your style all-year round. This year, we were wearing a pale blue linen suit from Ralph Lauren Purple Label, and a light, bright shirt to match from Luca Faloni.
Paired with a Budd pocket square, Crockett & Jones loafers and clear-frame Oliver Peoples sunglasses, this is an outfit that’ll keep you cool even under the stress of a hours-long game. Grab a blue-faced Rolex Datejust 41 to match the suit, and serve up a slice of unrivalled style.
Adhere to the dress code when off to the races

Of course, some sports have stricter dress codes than others, and it doesn’t get more unyielding than a classic Ascot Royal Enclosure look. The event may have passed this year, but it never hurts to refresh your memory on what you’ll need to be wearing next year. We’d opt for Favourbrook, who supply out shirts, morning coast and trousers.
For a splash of colour, add a waistcoat from Sir Plus, pocket square from Budd and a patterned tie from Hermes. Finish off by slipping a pair of Church’s loafers on your feet, and a Breguet Classique Extra Thin on your wrist.
