Every gentleman has a few ambitions that they aim to achieve in a lifetime. One of those is, without a doubt, owning a London property. We’re all aware of the astronomical housing prices in our capital, but what are our 5 most unaffordable streets?
KENSINGTON PALACE GARDENS, W8
Or, what is often referred to as Britain’s most expensive street (it’s rumoured that one house sold in 2013 for a cool £100 million). And it’s not hard to understand why this is one of the most luxurious streets in the capital. What with there being very little traffic on the street (it’s privately guarded), it being a stone’s throw away from Hyde Park (and of course, Kensington Palace) and millionaire neighbours such as Roman Abramovich – what’s not to aspire to?
GROSVENOR CRESCENT, SW1
Belgravia is home to the incredibly rich and famous and the average house on this street will go for a cool £16.9 million. Grosvenor Crescent is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful streets in London, where houses come in the form of a Grade II listed building and the view from your window could be of Buckingham Palace.
EATON SQUARE, SW1
Neighbour to Grosvenor Crescent and competitive in the pricing ranks, Eaton Square is one of the most sought after (for those who can afford it) streets in the city. Homes are exchanged at an average of £17 million and, in 2013, a sale for £70 million was made for a house with a gold-lined swimming pool…
PARK PLACE VILLAS, W2
With enough greenery to make you briefly believe that you’ve escaped city life, residents of Park Place Villas are unquestionably owners of some of London’s most spectacular properties. House prices are currently at an average of £10 million, making it one of the most unaffordable streets to live on.
THE BOLTONS, SW10
In the heart of Kensington and Chelsea comes our fifth and final most expensive street in London. The Boltons is home to some of the largest single properties in the capital, where a nine-bedroom detached house averages around £30 million. Homes are beautiful and come complete with gardens, pools and private entrances – to name a few.
