It’s always with mixed emotions that I scroll through my Instagram feed. On the one hand I’m amazed, inspired and filled with awe at the myriad of stunning wildernesses still hidden within the pages of the atlas. Yet on the other I’m overcome with envy, hatred and regret at how monotonous my life is in comparison.
My feed is alright, but when stacked up against the likes of Chris Burkard and Alex Strohl it is as impressive as comparing someone who came fifth in the X Factor to Frank Sinatra. £3.50 Tesco Value claret to a first growth Château Lafite Rothschild. I find myself sat on the bus, wistfully contemplating how great their lives are. I’m sure you do the same. Here are 10 men on Instagram we’d all rather be…
From a personal point of view, it doesn’t get better than this! For those of you with a profundity for wanderlust, this account will have you pining for the world’s desolate hinterlands. I’d stick my neck out and say this is the best account on Instagram – by some distance.
For the photographers amongst you, what could be better than travelling to the faraway regions of Africa and Alaska with a camera in hand, capturing the intimate traits of predators and tribes? Shot in black and white, David’s ground-breaking research and camerawork has stunning results.
To be honest, any of the Red Bull Ambassadors could be on this list, such is their ability to take their awesome talent around the world. They are essentially earning a living from playing hard. Ideal. In Danny’s case, it’s jumping from one precipitous rock or structure to another.
An adventure travel photographer who has a ridiculous eye for landscapes. I defy you to look at this feed and not feel an unwavering urge to jump on a plane and leave the helter skelter of 21st-century life behind.
One for the foodies. This man has the green-eyed monster stirring job of bouncing from one restaurant to the next, via cafés, pop ups and hidden eateries. Lucky b**tard.
Oh to have the life of photographer to the stars based in LA. Sun, sea, sand, and the world’s biggest names queuing up to stand in front of his lens. #livingthedream

An absolute gent, we’re big fans of the Swiss here at TGJ – so much so that he features in our 30 ultimate gentleman list. With nearly a million followers, his account is both inspiring and endearing – a must follow.
For petrolheads, this car porn account is a no brainer. His office is usually behind the steering wheel of an insane supercar with more horses than an Argentine livery – not a bad day job!
A slightly more controversial choice as, for many, he is a far cry from being a role model. But… his life isn’t bad. And if we’re honest, we could probably all get used to the creature comforts he enjoys on a daily basis.
