A triumphant piece of design in the form of the imposing F-Type sparkles before us, as Jaguar have yet again blended engineering prowess with sleek and seductive looks. The two seater convertible coupe takes up the charge where the E-Type left off with a fierce 3.0 litre V6 under the bonnet with little to no rivals within the category, the only other possible opponent being the porsche Boxster or Cayman. A 5.0 litre V8 version is also available with clearer jousters in the likes of the 911 and Aston’s V8 Vantage, and that coupled with twin exhausts and the pop-up spoiler at the back, we can be sure on an even match up.
The standard V6 model can do 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds with a top speed of 161mph, the V8 supercharged option will shave almost a second off that time and send the top speed all the way to 186mph – which won’t be hard to get to with the dynamic 8 speed automatic gear shift, especially with a lightweight aluminium body structure.
Other add ons include a top speaker system from trusted manufacturers Meridian, the high class sound specialist ensure your ride comes with a rich soundtrack. Performance style seating is available in red or tan and although the roof is made from fabric, there are some slick 20 inch wheels which come with a carbon-fibre trim to make up for it. All in all, a total bombshell.
Expected in dealerships by mid 2013, prices can be expected to be around the £60,000 mark, jaguar.com
