Oh, how great it must be to be born super talented. Not only is the lifestyle of a sportsman unrivalled when it comes to enjoying your 9 to 5, but the paychecks add a sizeable cherry to the cake. Especially if your talent falls into one of these five categories…
5. MOTOR RACING

Not only is this probably the most glamorous job in the sporting world, but if you’re half decent it’s fairly well paid. In F1, while the drivers at the lower end of the grid hover around the £100,000-£200,000 a year mark, Hamilton is on a three-year contract to the tune of £60million, and Alonso has had to settle for a measly £25million, binding him to McLaren-Honda for two seasons.
Full-time NASCAR drivers, meanwhile, can earn from $1million to $20million annually from salary and purse winnings.
4. NFL

NFL players make an average $1.9million per year. The top six NFL earners – Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Joe Flacco, Peyton Manning, and Tony Romo – are all quarterbacks, and earn considerably more.
3. FOOTBALL

Premier League footballers rake in around £2.3million a year each on average –that’s £43,717 a week! The richest footballer in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, tops the list with a staggering personal fortune of $230million.
2. NBA

On average, NBA players make $5.15million per year. Unless you’re Kobe Bryant, that is, who is far from average and is worth a whopping $61.9million.
1. BASEBALL

With an average salary of over $3.5million, there are 27 major league baseball players who make the top 100 list of highest earning athletes. That easily tops among all the sports. Baseball players make big money because they play 162 games a season.
