Courvoisier VS Punch
Words: Gentleman's Journal

When you think of Cognac you think of the Earl of Grantham after dinner with a cigar in his hand, and yes you would be right in doing so. But there is a different side of this beautiful spirit.
Courvoisier VS is perhaps the most famous of all and is over 200 years old in age. In its long history its been admired by Napoleon and Charles Dickens to name a few. In the 1900’s the British adoration for Cognac lead to a big impact on grading, and most of today’s abbreviations are derived from that time. These include VS (Very Special), VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale) and XO (extra old).
What is not known about this historic spirit is that it creates some of the most delicious cocktails. Once of our favourites is the Courvoisier Punch – a tasty combination of orange juice, lemon, and Angostura Bitters.
The Courvoisier Punch
35 ml Courvoisier VS Cognac, 1 wedge(s) of fresh orange squeezed, 1 wedge(s) of fresh lemon squeezed, 2 dash(es) Angostura Bitters, Top with lemonade
Starting with the citrus fruits, add all the ingredients to a tall glass filled with cubed ice, and then swizzle. courvoisier.com
