Last week, Keri Moss, joint winner of Masterchef 2012, launched her first restaurant, The Corner Restaurant and Champagne Bar on the Selfridges uber trendy second floor. The launch saw food critics come together under one roof to talk to Keri about this superb leap up in her career and taste some of her first dishes in canapé form. Moving forward, the restaurant will offer a frequently changing with the an emphasis on seasonal cooking using the very best British ingredients and will be true to Keri’s experimental style which she honed over the last 25 years in professional kitchens. The focus of the restaurant is on relaxed luxury. Set in a beautiful art deco wing of the department store, one can either lounge and enjoy a range of delicacies after a spending spree, or pop in for breakfast, lunch, tea or dinner during the week. Keri’s specialities include mackerel tartare crisp poached quails eggs, apple, pancetta wafers. The sublime Goats Cheese Parfait, blackberry puree, pear salad and candied quinoa will form part of her delicious dessert menu. Guests at the launch event enjoyed a variety of Champagne cocktails and mingled above a glowing façade of Oxford Street’s lights.
