For the majority of gentlemen out there, we’re pretty sure that one of the first things they’d buy, if given the chance and/or millions of pounds, is an amazing classic car. Who would say no at the possibility of being able to buy a 1965 Aston Martin or a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette? If that prospect is looking a little unrealistic right now, here are just a handful of beautiful cars that have gone to auction in the last year. Feast your eyes and dream big, gentlemen.
1963 Chevrolet Corvette

What? This insane piece of manufacturing is one of the most iconic American cars in the world, and its year is just as important. 1963 is 10 years after this model was first realised, so it marks the second generation of one of America’s most-loved sports cars. This exact Corvette went for sale recently in its complete, unrestored form and is widely considered to be America’s most attractive post-war automotive design.
Price? A cool $253,000

What? This has to be one of the most iconic cars of all time – no doubt about it. This is the exact model that appeared in some of the best films, including Miami Vice, Wolf of Wall Street and Rocky V. The draw with the Testarossa is its usability; so style as well as function are highlights of this beautiful machine. For auction in the classic Ferrari red and with all of its original pieces still intact, jealousy doesn’t even cover how we’ll feel about the lucky owner of this beauty.
Price? $198,500

1968 Mercedes-Benz

What? Okay, so this doesn’t actually go into auction for another month, but we couldn’t not include this incredible 280 SL Pagonda. This is as iconic as they come and has just undergone a complete and stunning restoration, meaning that it’s as new today as it was in 1968 – no mean feat for a car that was only originally in production for 3 years.
Price? We won’t know what it’s worth for another month, but we’re guessing it won’t be cheap…

What? When a car of this stature still looks this beautiful so long after it was in production, you know it’s worth a pretty penny. The 300 Sc is perhaps the most desirable of all Mercedes-Benz’s post-war luxury models, with its rare design and impeccable features going so much further than just the functional. Style and class are two things the 300 Sc oozes, without a doubt.
Price? An eye-watering €498,400

What? If fast cars are your thing, this is the type of beauty you’d want to get your hands on. Not only is the 75 Series incredibly beautiful, it’s also amazingly fast – particularly for a car manufactured in the 1920s. This is a true classic and the perfect example of beautiful, timeless and functional design in all its glory.
Price? €140, 000
