Each and every year, some of the world’s biggest brands come up with elaborate pranks all in the name of April Fools’ Day. Some of them fail tremendously, whilst others impress with their ingenuity and wit. But, for the brands at least, any coverage is good coverage. JEREMY CLARKSON JOINS THE GUARDIAN

The recent ‘fracas’ involving the Top Gear star made multiple headlines last month, and his future career hangs very much in the balance. The Guardian created this hilarious video, which claims he joined them to support their fossil fuel initiative.

DOMINO’S LAUNCH DRIVERLESS PIZZA DELIVERY VEHICLES

Just imagine this one. Driverless vehicles are a scary proposition, but when there’s pizza involved, everything seemingly becomes OK. Bravo Domino’s.

GOOGLE’S #CHROMESELFIE

The selfie phenomenon has swept the world, but Google vowed to take it to new levels with their integrated #ChromeSelfie app. We’re glad this one’s fake.

EASYJET PARTNERS WITH KANYE WEST

According to an ‘official’ press release, Kanye partnered with EasyJet to create a new US airline. Mr West has put his name to a lot of garbage, so this wouldn’t seem too outlandish for him. “The notion of ‘getting fly’ is something I have stayed awake at night thinking about,” he says, apparently. Despite our feelings towards the rapper, if Kanye was involved in this, we salute him.

BREMONT RELEASES MUSICAL WATCH

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo, so it’s only fitting that Bremont release a watch that can play the eponymous ABBA song, right? It’s refreshing to see a sense of humour from the traditionally conservative watch industry. Well played, Bremont.

HUNTER INTRODUCE WELLINGTON BOOTS FOR DOGS

, These unique little wellies have been ‘developed in collaboration with veterinary experts’ and cost just £20. Whilst obviously fake, we could imagine these selling rather well indeed. Hunter may have shot themselves in the foot here…
