Words: Gentleman's Journal
What is expected to be the last in the DBS Series from Aston Martin, the DBS Ultimate is the be all and end all of the much loved model. With specifications that will blow any man’s mind it’s almost as if this car has been genetically modified in a lab somewhere, ready to become some universal soldier that James Bond himself couldn’t wait to drive.
With a 6 speed Sport-shift transmission, the 517bhp V12 engine can reach 0-100kmh in 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 295kmh. It also has better fuel consumption than the DBS Carbon Edition as well as both the ‘A’ and ‘M’ models, not to mention more horses under the bonnet. The exterior and interior specs mirror the effort put into the engine too, with a choice of Silver Fox, Quantum Silver and Carbon Black – all with Black Diamond Turned Wheels. There is also carbon fibre detailing and a unique DBS Ultimate badge with red in-fill. Obsidian Black is the interior leather colour which coats nearly every surface, including a Spicy Red for the gear paddles themselves.
With its juiced up 6.0-liter V12 engine and outrageous specs it’s no wonder that Aston Martin only plan to let out 100 of their Ultimates onto the market, thus making the car extremely rare from the outset, enticing the future collector’s taste buds. Orders are being taken on a first come first served basis and Prices start from around £180,000 for the Coupe and £190,000 for the convertible.
