Tech – Lunar by Hasselblad
This camera is as much a work of art as it is a modern camera. This is Hasselblad’s first foray into the consumer market. It’s said that Hasselblad engineers have taken their inspiration from supercars, luxurious watches and F1 technology to create Lunar, calling it “a hybrid of Italian design and Swedish pedigree.”
The materials which have been use empathise how luxurious this camera is. They include five handcrafted grip styles, including resistant carbon fibre, natural Italian olive or mahogany woods, which are undyed and have a waxless finish and top grade Tuscan leather in black and brown all with metal finishes in bronze or titanium.
In regards to the technology, it’s in effect a Sony camera with a few add on’s. It comes with a LF 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens with built in image stabilisation, 24.3 megapixels and a CMOS sensor. The perfect calibration of its body makes it possible for Lunar to support both compact and professional DSLR lenses. Other benefits include, an OLED electronic viewfinder, three-inch display and built in flash. It can also record in full HD.
