Tech: 360 Fly – Better Than The GoPro?
Words: Violet
For a long time now when someone says ‘action camera’, you can’t help but think ‘GoPro’, so when the news of a contender entered our inbox, we were intrigued. Our instincts told us that it could only be a pale imitation of the camera we all know and love. That said, however, after further inspection we’re really starting to come around to the 360 Fly. If you have ever wondered what it might be like to be a fly on the wall and observe the parts of the world that you might usually miss, then this is for you.
It may look a little like a futuristic 8 ball from your childhood, but a bit of 90’s nostalgia never hurt anyone. Plus, that’s not really important after you find out what it can do. Ready?…
First up, you can either mount it or wear it, 360 Fly works with a variety of mounts including tripods, helmets, and more. The small form factor and rugged design is ready for any adventure, 360Fly is waterproof for up to 5 meters and weighs only 120g, so you’ll hardly even notice it’s attached to you. It captures everything in 360°, from your child’s first step to the mountain you just shredded, 360Fly captures every angle without missing a moment. The unique lens design captures 360° horizontal x 240° vertical making it the widest viewing camera in the world.
Our favourite feature however? It is both android and iOS compatible with live 360° view, so you can instantly edit and share your interactive experience – as it happens! Now we simply can’t wait to get our hands on the 360 Fly which comes out this summer. Will the GoPro be knocked off it’s podium? We will have to wait and see.
