Style – Harrods introduces Men’s Fashion Lab

Harrods Mens fashion lab - TGJ.01

Harrods clearly believe men need a little assistance in the wardrobe department having just launched its ‘Men’s Fashion Lab’ in order to remedy any wayward styles cropping up in London. The new space will be located on the vast sports floor and is set to make a strong fashion statement and represent the inextricable link between fashion and sportswear.

The dedicated area will showcase boutique spaces for Sandro, The Kooples, The Kooples Sport and Zadig & Voltaire, as well as becoming the UK’s exclusive stockist of Canadian-founded Club Monaco Menswear, in addition to a collection of sports apparel.

There’s now no excuse for that battered old t-shirt and shapeless sweatpants. If you see yourself amongst the stylish crowd then you need to be ‘on’ trend at all times. Who knows who you’ll meet on the treadmill next to you? Since the Olympics (yes, we’re still rinsing all the good we can out of it) the sports luxe trend has swarmed the catwalk. Stella McCartney, Ralph Lauren, Christopher Shannon, Giorgio Armani and Calvin Klein have all dabbled in the trend in the past, and Harrods’ creation of a permanent space for it signals that you need to run straight for this one.

Don’t worry – we’re not saying you have to stock up lycra. In fact, the sports look simply offers a slight twist on your standard everyday wear. Think the brightest whites, a slimmer fit and clean, sharp tailoring. You could steer towards the urban look, mix up fabrics, cuts and textures, go minimalist or safely opt for the preppy look
