Not another Gatsby trailer we promise. No, this is a grand reveal that you can do more with than just pore over. You’ve seen flashes of the Gatsby style in the teaser trailers, and now you can get your hands on some of the key pieces in the film that have been donned by the leading stars, Tobey Maguire and Leonardo di Caprio. Brooks Brothers has announced the launch of its limited edition Gatsby Collection at the brand’s Regent Street flagship. The impressive window display fronting its flagship store on Regent’s Street says it all, as do the faces of the shopper’s passing by in a state of stupor.
As F. Scott Fitzgerald fans will know, Brooks Brothers is mentioned several times in the American author’s iconic novels; tailor and author come hand – in – hand, which is what makes the latest collection so authentic. Designed by double Academy Award winning designer, Catherine Martin, the looks hark back to the Golden era of class and style with a credibility and panache that few other tailors in the world could achieve.
It’s safe to say that the brand has set the benchmark for Summer style this season. This latest collection is one that oozes pure, understated sophistication and the right kind of glamour – a manly glamour. The historic American label’s collection includes quintessential straw boater hats, collar pin shirts and a covetable striped pink linen suit. Personally, we’ve got our eyes on the white and brown spectator loafers and red, white and blue regatta blazer.
