cravat club - TGJ.01

The cravat is having one major comeback and one of the brands bringing it into the 21st century is the über stylish and fantastically gentlemanly Cravat Club. Typically associated with older gentleman, it is only in the last 10 years that this 17th century Croatian neckband has become popular with a younger, more stylish and decidedly dapper generation of men.

Cravat Club, a company set up by business entrepreneur Julian Spencer-Smith, aims to take that one step further with their selection of beautifully luxurious raw-yarn silk products, and give the cravat a cooler, more fashionable image. In their own words, they are working towards a ‘Cravat Comeback’. Not only are these cravats different to anything else we have seen on the market, they also stock two different types; printed and jacquard woven silk cravats. The printed, more traditional cravats are crafted using a 25mm (momme) weighted silk, which is actually a higher quality than most other silk cravats which tend to be lighter weight with less raw yarn silk used in it. These cravats – which are timelessly sophisticated yet fun and vibrant – come in a range of detailed patterns and interesting motifs.

The company have also created “The Stay Put Cravat”, a selection of jacquard woven cravats crafted from a much heavier silk meaning that they sit comfortable around the neck requiring very little readjustment. These transeasonal neckbands are unique to Cravat Club and won’t be found anywhere else on the market so you can achieve unique sartorial perfection when pairing with both formal and casual outfits.

Importantly, all Cravat Club products – which is based in Surrey – are crafted in England, ensuring quality and durability. So, if you are looking for a way to inject some much needed panache into your wardrobe then check out what Cravat Club has to offer. Wear with a cashmere wool blend or tweed three piece suit and contrasting shirt for a chic, sharp finish.
