STYLE – Aquascutum To Open Menswear-Only Shop on Jermyn St
Exciting news for all dapper gents as the iconic British brand Aquascutum announce their plans to open a menswear-only concept store on the world-famous Jermyn Street. Aquascutum was founded in 1851 by high quality tailor John Emary with the mission to provide stylish protection from the unpredictable British weather and it appears that the new store will hold true to this philosophy, stocking a range of luxurious outerwear, tailoring and casual wear for the discerning modern gentleman.
The 1,268 sq. ft store is located at 78/79 Jermyn Street, on a highly prominent corner at the junction of Duke Street and will be close neighbours with other well-known gentlemanly hot-spots such as Fortnum & Mason and Dunhill.
Thomas Harvey, head of Menswear Design at Aquascutum, has described Jermyn Street as “one of the most iconic destinations in London and the world for menswear.” And we couldn’t agree more, which is why we’re so thrilled to have the brand joining in on the action. Harvey also hinted at the new store’s look, saying it will have a “distinct Gentleman’s Club feel” – this certainly sounds like our kind of shop. Sadly, we all need to sit tight for a few more weeks as doors to this exciting new store won’t be opened until the beginning of June 2014. Until then, take some style inspiration from the classic pieces in their spring/summer campaign.
