Last week, legendary Swiss watchmakers Richard Mille opened its long-anticipated new London flagship boutique in an exquisite new premises on London’s iconic Old Bond Street. Appropriately for a brand which crafts its timepieces with an astute artistic eye, the store can be found in a truly iconic neighbourhood, just steps away from the Royal Academy of Arts and some of London’s most famous hotels.
The new boutique, spanning over 300 square metres and occupying two floors, is three times larger than the brand’s previous London location, and showcases several of Richard Mille’s emblematic boutique features, including Wenge Wood parquet flooring, Sophie Mallebranche wallpaper, and walls of black leather and fractured glass.
As visitors set foot through the door, they will be immersed into a larger-than-life setting, thanks to the triple glass panels which are laser-engraved with the RM 008 Tourbillon Chronograph. On the ground floor, guests are able to view the on-site watchmaker at work in a glass enclosed work area, and a tonneau-shaped atrium opens on the lower storey with a view of the VIP lounge. All clients here are offered the ultimate boutique experience, thanks to its well-stocked, walk-in wine cellar and cigar cabinet.
Other classic cues of the brand can be found in the boutique’s library, which is lined with a curation of art books by Éditions Cercle d’Art, the Parisian publishing house of Picasso and Braque, which is owned by the Richard Mille Group. Passionate Richard Mille owners, collectors and everyone desiring to learn more about the brand will be able to experience a selection of the brand’s finest timepieces, from Ladies’ and Gents’ automatic and complicated timepieces, to sports watches developed specifically in close collaboration with friends of the brand.
