Today the world was given a sneak peek into the galaxy far far away that we all love. Star Wars Episodes VII: The Force Awakens is set to hit cinema screens in December 2015 and this small preview is undoubtedly the first of many tantalizing trailers and interviews, that we are happy to be teased by.
With the creative mind of renowned uber nerd and film genius JJ Abrams, we can expect the Star Wars franchise to make a roaring return to the genre that made the series such a huge success through episodes 4, 5 and 6, regardless of your opinion on episodes 1,2 and 3. Complete with the galactic sized explosions, laser beams, plasma bolts, robots with witty remarks, Jedi wisdom and R2-D2, we can expect the perfect blend of drama and thrills in these epic sized sequels. With three new movies set to come out over the next 5 years (2015, 2017 and 2019), we’re in for a gloriously long revitalization of the classic science fiction adventures.
While no Star Wars film is complete without a wookie or two, we can expect to see many more old faces and some new ones as well, with Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill reprising the roles that made them famous – as well as Planet of the Apes’ Andy Serkis and Max Von Sydow playing yet-to-be-revealed roles.
