Shinola land in London with Soho store
Words: Luke Fussell
Known for a range that is as unique as the city it calls home, Shinola’s design ideologies are as blatant as their catch phase; ‘where american is made’. This has led the brand to create products that are built to last and built with legacy, in a style that only American culture can impart on fashion and accessories design.
Their newly opened London location at 13 Newburgh St is but seconds from the iconic Caranby St and the entire 400 sq foot store holds the entire range of wallets, watches, bicycles, journals, leather goods and shoe polish. Shinola have just launched globally on Mr. Porter and Net-A-Porter, as well as opening their own e-commerce site, in response to the growing european demand, not only the the UK but all over the continent.
Steve Bock, CEO of Shinola said, “the decision to open our Newburgh St store was inspired by the feedback we have received from Europe and in particular the UK. Soho is a vibrant and culturally significant area, with a strong sense of community, (and) it provides the ideal location for our first store outside of the US. As the gateway to Europe, our launch here in London combined with the launch of our European website in October is an important next step in our international roll out plans.”
