The new Savoir x Winch Design bed brings a superyacht level of comfort into the home

Inspired by the golden age of travel, this cocoon is defined by graceful lines and a soft palette

Words: Josh Lee

For more than a century, luxury bedmaker Savoir has been responsible for countless nights of deep, restorative sleep across the globe thanks to its focus on quality, craft and using only premium natural materials. For its latest creation, the label has once again teamed up with Winch Design, the studio that specialises in bespoke designs within superyachts, private jets and opulent residences. The bed, labelled Tranquility, is a coming together of two worlds of luxury and has been produced to evoke the refined style and the romance of the golden age of travel.

The high-tone product – a new take on the classic sleigh bed, and conceived by furniture designer Michael Noah – has taken its cues from the opulent style of ocean liners from the 1930s, with its graceful, organic lines and soft, warm colourway. The refined appearance is enhanced by the use of soft Foglizzo leather and a trim in anigre timber, and saddle-stitch detailing subtly showcases the craft behind it all. Meanwhile, the frame holds a Savoir No. 4 spring base, a custom-made mattress by Winch Design, and a topper made from horse hair and wool. Integrated lights by Chelsom encourage reading, rather than scrolling, before bed, and matching bed-side tables round out the look.

“The Tranquility bed is a timeless masterpiece of British craftsmanship, offering a modern interpretation of a classic design,” says Noah. “We spend one-third of our lives in bed, making it arguably the most important piece of furniture I have designed to date. It’s a place for rest, reflection, and renewal.”

It is available from £51,385 for a Super King, and is completely customisable.
