Revealr: The Dating App that Uses Voice to Make a Match
Words: Violet
, Since the introduction of Tinder there has been an influx of dating service apps on the social market. Many are just pale comparisons to the reigning app, but the new Revealr might have something else to add. The sex appeal and attraction of someone’s voice. Just like Tinder uses photos to allow people to judge who they are attracted to, Revealr uses a voice clip. Users can record a 20 second clip of their voice to win over any potential suitors which is presented next to a pixelated photo of yourself. Like Tinder, potential daters are found by entering in your location, date of birth and name. Also just like Tinder, when a mutual match is made, you are able to start talking. The added feature of Revealr is that when the match is made, the actual un-pixelated image is also revealed.

Revealr co-founder Guy Harrington told The Independent, ““One morning, after a Tinder date, my flat mate Paul and I were sat hungover in our underpants and thought, why don’t we do a blind date style app not based on looks but on the voice which shows their personality? That’s how Revealr was born. It would be great to get a marriage out of a connection through the app, a nice feeling knowing people can connect and get to know each other from an app built in a flat in Fulham!”
