Range Rover Evoque – Another Chelsea Tractor?

Range Rover Evoque – Another Chelsea Tractor?

The world first set its eyes on the Evoque at the Geneva Motor show last year and with months of burlesque inspired teasers and press leeks the anticipation grew. However when the Evogue first launched, there was a sense of disappointment. This is because from the surface, it is a celebrity styled school run machine that costs a small fortune to run.

In our view this sense of disappointment was unfounded. The Evoque is a 4×4 with a difference. Firstly, it is the smallest, lightest and most fuel-efficient vehicle Range Rover have ever produced. In fact last month it won 4×4 Magazine’s 4×4 of The Year title. This was not the 1st award it had received either, it was the 52nd, others included Car of the Year from Auto Express. It even manage to persuade none other than Jeremy Clarkson, when Top Gear awarded it Car of the Year too. So whilst it may look like a bit of a wag’s car, there is no arguing that the Evoque has a serious side too. We are not say it’s the manliest car, however we think that no other car works as well in both the city and the country.

The Evoque is going to be sold in over 160 countries and already 40,000 orders have been placed. What is really interesting is 9 out of 10 buyers are new to the brand, so maybe Range Rover have done something very clever here, or maybe 9 out of 10 buyers are young females living in the city..?

In regards to the styling, the inside of the Evoque is smaller then you would think, however the materials are pure quality. The overall view is that it’s different to its bigger brothers, however it’s a look that will grow on people, and due to the huge face and grill, it has the confidence of its brothers any way. Starts from £29,000 landrover.com
