Nestled in the heart of Chelsea, the Pullman Editions gallery houses an illustrious collection of art-deco posters, harking back to the style of the 1920s so recently revamped by Baz Luhruman’s ‘The Great Gatsby’, which came out last year. The glitz and glamour of such a decade has remained emblematic of wealth and decadence far beyond its time, and the styles that marked the era are in as much demand now as ever. The poster, once named a ‘visual shout’, has remained a steady market for decades, first inspired by those that plastered the walls of Swiss and French railway stations, rendered in eye-catching colours. Each poster from the Pullman Editions collection, founded by Simon Khachadourian and his wife Georgina, is one of a limited edition 280 or less, retaining the originality of the design. All of the posters are hand-numbered and signed by the artist, set on fine cotton art paper. Each poster is designed by a different artist, all with their individual mark. Expect to find vibrant images of the Côte d’Azur, the French and Swiss Alps , revered ski resorts, and classic sports cars against technicolour landscapes in the sleek shapes and bold lines of the art-deco form. Such prints behold a perpetual elegance that has proved unwaveringly chic in the art and fashion world for decades. The vintage poster market has seen a steady incline in the last few years, and Each print is £395. The gallery is open 10am until 6pm Tuesday to Friday, and between 11am and 5pm on Saturdays.
