Words: Gentleman's Journal
It’s Great Gatsby Week, as the infamous novel makes its 5th screen debut at Cannes Film Festival, we give you London’s answer to Gatsby excess. Lethbridge House in NW1 is a modern palace. The décor is befitting for any twenties fan, plenty of mirrored panels line the monochrome reception rooms, where there are enough bars to keep any party in full swing. There are 5 bedroom suites and one decadent master bedroom floor, the swimming pool, gym & spa complex is situated on the lower floor, it really is your own space to relax.
Our favourites included the two kitchens, spacious cinema, wine cellar and open grass garden.
The history of the house name is with Sir Lethbridge, the Oxford academic, turned Indian civil servant, turned Conservative Politician whom married Lady Lethbridge, known as the Poet of Cornwall Terrace, the couple lived in this house in the late 1800’s, impressionable but not quite as remarkable as Jay Gatsby!
