Motorbikes are sexy – fact. That’s why men love them and women love men who ride on them, it really is that simple and this newly released model by Henrik Fisker is absolutely no exception. More commonly known for his automotive designs including iconic models such as the Aston Martin DB9 and the BMW Z8, this is the first ever 2 wheeled offering and we’re pretty excited about it.
Danish custom motorcycle company, Lauge Jensen, unveiled its new Viking Concept motorcycle at the Top Marques show in Monaco and the Lauge Jensen x Henrik Fisker Viking Motorcycle is certainly our kind of bike, as only Fisker could, he has transformed a classic cruiser into a stunning streamlined street bike. With an American-built air-cooled V-Twin engine and a top speed of over 130 mph, a six-speed transmission, a dry weight of 660 pounds and up to 70mpg fuel economy, its beauty is so much more than just what’s on the surface. It’s the first motorcycle of its type to comply with the new, much more stringent Euro IV emission regulations that come into effect in 2016. The engine, built in Wisconsin, USA, has been carefully developed and tuned to achieve this without losing its trademark V-twin sound or soul.
Our favourite feature is the fact that the tank, seat and rear fender seem to blend together seamlessly to create one fluid line, and the use of polished chrome give this modern bike a beautifully classic feel.
Anderes Kirk Johansen, who bought Lauge Jensen in 2013, said of the bike, “We have been developing the Viking Concept for some time. Potentially, it’s the next step for our company beyond our limited production Great Dane custom bike. It’s great to have Henrik, one of the world’s leading vehicle designers and a fellow Dane working in partnership with us to help create a really special, emotional design. Revealing a concept bike is all about gauging demand but, if it’s there, I look forward to producing the Viking Concept for the mainstream market.”The bike will go into production in 2016 if it is well received, which we hope it will as this has sex-appeal written all over it.By Holly Macnaghten
