What springs to mind when some one says ‘Lamborghini?’ We think luxury, speed, style and excitement. Well with the new Veneno Roadster we have no reason to be disappointed. The promise of nine examples by 2014 has every Lamborghini fan itching for its general release.
Now lets get down to the hard hitting facts. The new Roadster gives us a promise of 60mph in just 2.9 seconds. Now doesn’t that bring a whole new meaning to ‘nipping out.’ Power is a constant theme through out this beautiful piece. With a 6.5 litre engine, 750hp and ISR transmission there is no doubt that the Roadster has the ability to pack a punch, but with power like that are we are ensured a smooth drive within an urban setting? We’ll have to wait and see.
Looking at the design of the car, it is clear Lamborghini are aiming for a high powered yet light weight car. The lengths they have gone to ensure the lightweight aspect of their design is incredible. The use of smart materials like Carbon-Fibre when it comes to the Roadster’s monocoque, trims off those excess pounds when compared to the traditional monocoque. This re-enforced polymer promises undeniable safety with the forward thinking and style of the future.
Aerodynamics is the main influence on the design of this speed demon. The designers at Lamborghini have tweaked the shell in two key areas to ensure that downward force is optimised, and will keep you on the road travelling with pure stability.
The interior of the Roadster has not been skipped over one little bit. Even the switch gears are coloured to produce the Italian flag, honouring Lamborghinis long lasting heritage. The meticulous detail that has gone into the internals doesn’t stop there. Even with basics, like the seats, have Lamborghinis patents all over them. The use of Forged Composite and Carbon-Fibre wool to minimise the seat’s weight conforms to the lightweight theme of this stunning vehicle.
All in all Lamborghini have produced a high powered, low weighted and aerodynamic car. This will have any boy excited for the release of this amazing toy. Hopefully it will be in time for Christmas 2014 just for the excuse to spend and estimated 2.8million.
