OMEGA Speedmaster Pilot
A favourite amongst U.S Air Force pilots, the original 1957 Speedmaster, with its robust and easy-to-read design, kickstarted OMEGA’s association with the skies. Today, the newly launched Speedmaster Pilot honours this legacy and nods back to its forefather with the same 40.85mm diameter and a signature matte finish. New to this piece (and perhaps the most eye-catching feature of all), are the twin, cockpit-inspired, subdials. There’s a “burn rate” recorder at 3H and a “target/sight” aesthetic at 9H that give the piece a unique and colourful edge.
Crockett & Jones Billfold Wallet
Part of the newest range from footwear master-craftsmen Crockett & Jones, their Billfold Wallet is just one of a handful of new products that mark the brand’s foray into everyday accessories. Standing as Longmorn’s oldest release to date, the refined 30-year-old joins its juniors; the 18-year-old and 22-year-old (released earlier this year) to complete the foundations of the distillery’s portfolio. It’s a rich and full dram, with caramel, honey and dark fruits on the nose before delivering treacle (a Longmorn staple), walnuts and spiced apple on the palate.
Hamilton American Classic PSR 74
Often forgotten amidst 007’s Rolexes, OMEGAs and Seikos, it was the Hamilton Pulsar (worn by Roger Moore in Live and Let Die), that not only brought Bond into the digital age, but also showed audiences the world’s first solid-state digital watch. Now, decades later, Hamilton has released the PSR 74, the sleek grandnephew of Bond’s model (he wore the Pulsar P2 2900) that’s been crafted with modern-day engineering and finishing, but with an abundance of retro charm. With December being as it is, it’s never a bad idea to have a cocktail in the locker that doesn’t contribute to partial amnesia and the inevitable katzenjammer. Lyre’s has been crafting exquisite non-alcoholic spirits since 2019, and we’re particularly fond of their nutty amaretto liqueur. It’s a liver friendly addition to an Amaretto Sour, and whether a consistent feature of the evening, or the marker of a brief ABV recess, it’s wise to have a bottle on hand.
Breitling Superocean Heritage B20 Automatic 42
A contemporary twist on the classic Superocean Heritage, the new Breitling Superocean Heritage B20 Automatic 42 delivers a hard-wearing edge alongside a sleek tonal aesthetic.
