This new boat by Magnum Marine has aptly been nicknamed the Bestia or Beast – and this won’t come as a surprise to anybody who has taken a ride in this streamlined, powerful ‘bullet-boat’. The power that the engine generates is quite astonishing and the acceleration, speed and ferocity of the Bestia will invigorate the senses and give you a ride on the water that’s unlike any other.
Bestia was unveiled at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show last October 2014 and will be available for sea excursions and trials – launched from her home port in Miami, Florida – with the owner’s permission. This presents a brilliant opportunity to enjoy one of the world’s most exciting small boats whenever you find yourself on the Eastern Seaboard.
The Magnum 51’ is a narrow beam, deep-vee, with a very heavy hull, and generally will be equipped with twin Caterpillar or MTU diesels motors of between 1600 and 1925 horse power, each coupled to Arneson surface drives. Bestia can reach an astonishing top speed of 60 knots – or 74 mph! Despite this The Magnum 51’ is one of the most environmentally friendly boats that Magnum Marine have ever built, due to its lighter weight and the surface drives system.
It’s not just the astonishing top speed that makes this nifty little boat a wonderfully enjoyable ride – the interiors are very well designed and they seem more spacious than one would expect from a boat of this size. The interiors include a large salon and gallery, a master stateroom, a head with a shower and a crew cabin – all designed for optimum comfort and practicality.
Bestia is a seaman’s boat and is durable and operable in all weather conditions, with a seaworthiness unlike most boats of this size. The Magnum 51’ can easily make crossings in rough seas and is unparalleled in terms of safety.
