National Geographic to Update World Map With Russian Crimea

The National Geographic Society, based in Washington US, have announced plans to redraw the world map displaying Crimea as part of Russia as the finalisation of the region’s break away from Ukraine goes through. The magazine met on Tuesday following Vladimir Putin and Crimea’s leaders signed a treaty on Russia’s absorption of Crimea. The organisation’s geographer Juan Jose Valdes described “As you can only surmise, sometimes our maps are not received in a positive light by some individuals who want to see the world in a different light.”
