Find out what the most powerful passport in the world is…
Words: Gentleman's Journal
There is no greater way to sour a trip on foreign soil than beginning it with an indolent border crossing. Hours of aimless waiting, while suspicious customs officers eye you over, leaf through the pages of your passport and argue with one another in a language you can’t comprehend.
Britain usually has it pretty good, but according to data released by Henley & Partners last week, it is not the most powerful passport in the world. Sitting in top spot is, in fact, Germany, with their passports giving visa-free access to 177 countries.
Sweden came in second place, with 176 countries, followed by the UK, Finland, France, Italy, and Spain, which permit visa-free access to 175 countries. The United States came fourth.
In last place, the country with the most limited travel, was Afghanistan, with access to just 25 countries.
