Private Jets are one thing, but for those who really want to be taken seriously, it’s all about owning your very own Mega Yacht. It is not unusual for them for cost millions a year to run and with every toy you can imagine, getting board is just not and option.
Whilst they may be extravagant and over the top, oligarchs, tech billionaires and Middle eastern royal family see them as ultra private holiday villas. Forget your Sunseeker, which are considered just mere tenders compare to these yachts. May the best billionaire win.
History Supreme – $4.8 Billion
, It may not be the biggest yacht in the list, however it is the most expensive. Owned by an anonymous Malaysian businessman, History Supreme has been built with more than 100,000kg of precious metals such as gold and platinum. Extravagance to a new level.
Eclipse – $800 million approximately
At a cool 533ft Roman Abramovich’s flagship is pretty much the same size a cruise ship. Cool gadgets include an anti-missile defence system (a must for any serious Oligarch) and an anti-paparazzi laser shield (a must when you have John Terry round for tea).
Dubai – $350 million
When you own a kingdom it’s only normal that you should name a yacht after it. Measuring 525ft Dubai is owned by the Shiek Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the UAE. It has a heli-pad that is big enough to land a Black Hawk helicopter and its own submarine.
Al Said – $200-300 estimated between
Another ruler on our list is Sultan Qoobas bin Said al Said Sultan of Oman. His 508ft Al Said can accommodate a crew of a mere 150 and reportedly has its own concert hall, however, due to the private nature of the yacht and the fact that there is no photography of the inside, we will never know., Al Miraqab – approximately $250 million
Next up we have Qatar and whilst they are known for their extensive property empire in London, their yacht isn’t bad either. Al Mirqab belongs to to Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al-Thani or otherwise know as the Prime Minister of Qatar. It measures 437ft and is said to have a lavish interior with hand-cut crystal panels.
Lady Moura – $210 million

Rising Sun – $200 million approximately
Formally owned by Oracle’s Larry Ellison, the 453ft Rising Sun is now owned by America media mogul David Geffen. This is definitely a yacht for having fun on and when you’re not getting lost in the 82 rooms, there is a basketball court, wine cellar and even a movie theatre.
Al Salamah – $200 million
Owned by the Saudi Arabian defence minister, Al Salamah indoor pool with glass roof definitely sets it apart and at 457 feet isn’t short either.
Ecstasea – $200 million
Ecstasea received less press than Abramovich’s other yachts, however it’s the largest yacht that renowned ship builder Feadship have ever made and is one of the fastest for its size.
