2017 sees renowned Swiss watchmaker Montblanc reinvent their iconic TimeWalker collection. Including everything from Date Automatics to Tourbillon Chronographs, the pleasantly retro range merges traditional horology with dynamic new designs.

And, to kickstart this rebirth even further, Montblanc have recently announced their partnership with the iconic racing festival, the Goodwood Festival of Speed. With the ink just drying on a five year partnership, the watchmaker has become the official timing partner of the automotive mecca.
Held this year between the 29 June and 2 July, the Swiss house’s timekeeping expertise will be turned to the track to keep tabs on some of the world’s most rare and spectacular machines.

A stellar partnership and savvy move, racing has always been closely tied to the evolution of the chronograph. With the technology to record elapsed time, Minerva chronographs – the precursor to today’s Montblanc manufacture in Villeret – have always paid witness to great racing moments.
Founded in 1858, the Minerva manufacture became an exclusive workshop where high-quality instruments for measuring brief intervals of time with precision up to 1/100th of a second were created – precision perfect for measuring the most exciting and pioneering motor cars in the world.

As such, Minerva instruments became the reference in the field of horological timekeeping innovation, with numerous patents registered over the years in the domain of precision timers including the renowned “Rally Timer”, a stopwatch created to time motor racing with the utmost precision in 1960.
So, strengthening further this automotive link, and with over a century of engineering excellence under their leather straps, this latest sponsorship move puts Montblanc in pole position.
